It's that time of year again, where you get to comb through this post for hints and tips about what to write for me. Here's a hint: I'm gonna love it no matter what! Take everything on this post with a grain of salt, and feel free to write the Fic Of Your Dreams if nothing in here resonates with you. That said, I'd prefer there be a wink or a nod to something I've mentioned in here.

General Likes:
tropes of all glorious shapes and sizes, especially super cliche rom-com tropes (fake dating, A+B dating and A believing that it's just a matter of time before B leaves/realises they're too good for A/something horrible happens and so pining for B and Making Every Moment Count (this is my ultimate trope; I think I have bookmarked about five million fics that all follow this exact storyline), soulbonding, that crazy 'verse where you can actually remove your heart and give it to the person you care about, stuck in close spaces together, huddling for warmth, A + B having to be physically close/intimate and both secretly loving it even though they both think the other hates them, that kind of thing. It is soul food.).

When it comes to romance, I am definitely more interested in first-time/getting together fic than established relationships, but I understand that 1000 words is not a lot of words if you want to have ship stuff + much plot, so if it works for your story, established relationships are totally fine. And as much as I love healthy relationships between loving and caring people, I am also deeply committed to deeply unhealthy relationships between shitty people. I love dub-con, not just in the sexy sense, but also in the "oh shit this relationship is really unhealthy and B is actually totally being manipulated into loving A and thinking they're living happily ever after" sense. This sort of thing probably works a little better in established relationship fic, unless you want to write me the stockholm syndrome gaslighty first-time fic of my dreams (please do).

I'm also more interested in happy endings than sad endings. I like the sad bit of a story to be in the middle (B dies tragically! B realises A never loved them and packs their bag and leaves! B is kidnapped by numpties!), and the happy bit to be at the end (A knows healing magic! A actually does love B and is waiting at the train station for them! B falls in love with one of the numpties and they have a super dodgy dub-con gaslighty relationship!) When I say "happy", I also mean "bittersweet". I'm definitely fond of an ending that makes my heart ache, and you know what, I've definitely enjoyed endings that made me cry my little eyes out, but unless it's something you think really works for whatever story you go for, I do prefer a happy ending.

Alternate universes! Holy crap, I'm a big fan of those. Coffeeshop, in space, living in hogwarts/general magic, all of it mashed up together: yes, please.

General Dislikes:
as mentioned above: established relationship fic for noncanon couples. I'm also not hugely into porn for porn's sake, but that's not to say I don't like sex in fic, and I don't mind a bit of kink (slight D/s, bondage - you know, soft kink). I know I said tropes, but I don't love-love "hanahaki disease" - that new one where you cough up flower petals?

but honestly - if you write it, I'll love it.

And now for the fandoms:

Brooklyn NIne NIne
Amy/Gina, Amy/Rosa, Gina/Rosa

I love all three of these women. They're incredible. Please make some of them kiss. They're all so funny together when they're interacting - maybe they go out for ladies night one night? Or Amy and Rosa are on a case? Or Gina and Amy/Rosa are stuck in an elevator or somewhere?

Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Buffy/Faith

As if these two never ended up together. I literally refuse to believe they never at least made out. Um...I would love for them to make out. Maybe something set during the show, while they were still friends?

Game of Thrones
Brienne/Sansa

Brienne is the loyal, faithful knight Sansa always believed in! Sansa is the regal lady who Brienne deserves! I just want them to be happy - and happy together. For this I actually don't mind if you go a more "gen" route, like with "courtly love" or whatever - I am also 100% with Sansa giving it to Brienne on their marriage night.

I don't mind if you go the pure sweet Sansa route, or the corrupted by Cersei and Littlefinger Sansa route. It's all good!

Overwatch
Mercy/Pharah, Tracer/Widowmaker, Mei/Widowmaker

This is a brand new fandom for me, so I have absolutely no preconceptions or headcanons or knowledge of fanon. Honestly, these are just five gorgeous women who would look gorgeous together. I don't mind AUs, but maybe for these gals I'd prefer in-universe fic? Maybe set on a game map?

Princess Tutu
Ahiru/Rue

I love, love, love the episodes where they get to spend time together, to think about each other, to be part of each others' worlds. So - obviously I'd love to see more of that. Maybe they dance together again? Maybe they solve a fairy tale near the start of the show? Maybe in an alternate universe they hold hands after dance class?

Steven Universe
Lapis/Peridot, Jasper/Lapis, Amethyst/Peridot

Okay. I love unhealthy relationships. And Jasper/Lapis is unhealthy with a capital UNHEALTHY. So if you pick this ship, please don't be afraid to make it so wrong and so bad and so great. I can't say no to dub-con.

On the other hand, I think Amethyst/Peridot has the potential to be really sweet and healthy and good for both of them. They're cute together! They watch that show!

Lapis/Peridot...could go either way. Feel free to go cute or terrible with them.

Book of Life (2015)

Joaquin + Maria + Manolo

I really, really, really wanted this movie to end with the three of them getting married together, and from the looks of the fandom presence on the AO3, it looks like I'm not the only one... I'd love something that ends with them getting together (and BTW I have this horribly depressing headcanon that when Maria went away, Joaquin and Manolo would "play Maria" and practice kissing/holding hands with one of them pretending to be Maria....feel free to include it/not include it as you will). I'm also ok with them Just Being Friends, but if you're not feeling the OT3 aspect, I'd really prefer gen over Maria/either of the guys.

for prompts...what about what happens at the end of the movie? does their society change now that people really know that the dead are kind of still around? does a new scary bandit rise up? or maybe go the AU route: what if Manolo and Joaquin followed Maria to the convent and dressed up like girls to get in? (I am super OK with AUs for this fandom, btw. the movie was soaked in supernatural elements, so what's a few more? werewolves, witches...go for it.)

Elenium (David Eddings)
Martel + Sparhawk

Oh...my...goodness. If you offered these two characters, you probably know exactly what I desperately want for them - fix it fic! Like, they literally know goddesses! Why can't Martel come back and kiss Sparhawk and live happily ever after?

Um.

On the off-chance that's not what you're feeling, something set pre- or during the series would also be amazing. What was their dynamic like when they were kids? Did they have sneaky hookups? What about when Martel was thinking about leaving? Did it break his heart to leave Sparhawk? Did Sparhawk try to stop him leaving...with hot sex? Or friendship, if you're not feeling the kisses or the underageness. (I am absolutely ok with underage, btw) And during the series, could they have ever met up without it being in the book? Was there an adventure (maybe only just before the start of the series, or during one of the gaps between the books) Sparhawk was on on his own, and ran into Martel for a rerun of hot kisses (or a BEGINNING of hot kisses?)

I also totally ship Sparhawk/Ehlana, and I'm ok with the Sparhawk/Martel thing being extramarital (especially if Martel doesn't make it out alive in your version of events). I also really love Sephrenia and all the other side characters, so feel free to include them!

Lady LovelyLocks and the Pixietails
Lady LovelyLocks + Duchess RavenWaves

alright...wow. this is probably the tiniest fandom I"m requesting, so I'll be impressed if anyone ever reads this. that said: I friggin loved this show as a kid, and I always wanted lady lovelylocks and duchess ravenwaves to hook up and get married and rule the kingdom together (if you're not into that, I also love them as played-straight enemies or as sad parallels or whatever dynamic you're most interested in!), & I would super love a story about that. I also like the supporting characters (the pixietails! curlycrown! fairhair!), so totally feel free to have them running around and being important/adorable.

I am also a huge, *huge* fan of stories about magical rulers having to learn the nitty-gritty of ruling a kingdom. there is a fic in this fandom (I think it might also be the *only* fic in this fandom? jeez, fandom, why so tiny?) that deals with that concept & it's great & I just want more, more, more.

if that kind of thing bores you to tears, I am also super excited by straight-up magical adventures! man, how about the time they had to fight the dragon and became friends with its kids, right? love all that sort of stuff.

Pet Shop of Horrors
Count D + Leon

I'm familiar with both the manga and the anime for this, so don't worry about spoilers. I super, super ship Count D/Leon, but if you don't, I'm ok with them just being banter buddies. I like the wacky supernatural aspect to this show, with legends and myths being real, and the animals looking like humans to the rest of the world, and I love the grimdark aspect where shitty people die from shitty decisions, and sometimes even non-shitty people die too. I like how sociopathic Count D is towards humanity, but I also like when he can find some empathy. I really like Leon's drive for justice (and begrudging appreciation for Count D), and I'd really like to see him getting to be competent (not necc. at being A Cop, but that would be cool too). If you don't want to focus on just these two characters, I like the bantery dynamic between Leon and Jill, and I love the family dynamic between Count D & Leon & Chris. I also like Chris becoming friends with crazy animals, especially the extra dangerous ones!

It'd be cool to read something set during the series, like maybe Count D going on another quest for a particular wacky animal and Leon coming with because why not, or maybe Leon finally finds enough evidence to put Count D in jail for a few days, and has to deal with the fallout (both supernatural and regular. Does Count D have real ID? what do the pet shop animals do?), or Count D or Leon gets sick and the other has to look after him? Something set post-series would be awesome too, with maybe Leon tracking Count D down and saving him from somebody (or vice versa!)

Princess Tutu
Ahiru + Rue

I absolutely ship Ahiru/Rue, but I'm also okay with other dynamics (friends, rivals, enemies), & I'm also ok with the more canon ships (Mytho/Rue, Ahiru/Fakir).

I love how hard Ahiru tried to befriend Rue, and how begrudgingly Rue accepted it, and the absolute tragedy of Rue becoming Kraehe broke my heart into a million pieces. I love when this show veers into tragedy territory, so don't shy away from that! I do really like happy endings (or at least bittersweet), but if you make me cry I will adore you. On a less tragic note, I'd love a story about Rue and Ahiru going on a quest (maybe for a heart shard, so set during the series?) together, or dancing together (that was SUCH a good scene), or just realising they enjoy each other's company. I'm totally up for something quiet and somber and character study-y.

I'm way easy-going, so create whatever's in your heart, even if it has nothing to do with absolutely anything I've written here (although please pay attention to do not wants?)

General Wants: Happy endings - or at least bittersweet. Kissing and/or strong friendship. A li'l bit of scary/tension/hurt-comfort. Rom-com tropes! Hand-holding, fake-dating, trapped together in an enclosed space, all that kind of stuff.

General Do Not Wants: major character death - minor is ALWAYS okay, except for when the whole story then descends into darkness and angst forever. Established relationships - my fav fav FAV part of shipping is the characters getting together, so please don't skip it if you're going somewhere shippy

The Goblin Emperor - Katherine Addison

Do Not Want: major character death.

I'm SO intrigued by this woman (and ALL the women in this book). She writes in the old warrior script, she duels, she scares the emperor and feels bad about it....like. yes, please. I would love something about her past (maybe a scrape she's gotten into with the other characters? a duel with Csoru?), or something about her present/future (a cute scene with Maia, or a duel (I love duels, ok) for his honour?).

If you want to write/draw something shippy, I like her with Maia, but also it might be cute to see her hook up with one of the other characters (hate-kisses with Csoru? holding hands with the opera singer?)

art specific prompts: a duel between her and one of the other characters? kissing/holding hands with Csoru or Maia? or it'd be cool to see how you pictured one of the scenes from the book, like where she apologises to Maia for scaring him, or the marriage certificate ceremony?

Everyone trick or treating (as children?) or dealing with trick or treaters? Drugged candy?

Ships I Am Into: (since I selected "all" on an ensemble show with UST in buckets, I thought this might be warranted) Dean/Jeff, Annie/Jeff, Britta/Annie, Troy/Abed, Abed/Annie, Troy/Abed/Annie, Troy/Britta, Frankie/Anyone - I realise now that I could have just written "all ships welcome". Oh well.

art specific prompts: honestly I think you could illustrate a moment in time of any of the prompts I've listed - some/all of the characters in costume trick or treating, or hiding from a monster in a haunted house, or cuddling in a pillow/blanket fort or something. I'd like something that definitely focuses on humour/sweetness rather than horrifying monsters - but on the other hand, community characters dealing with a horrifying monster could be hilarious by itself.

Do Not Want: character death?

I love Agnieszka so much, omg. I love that she's got that whole "wild magic"/"hedge witch" thing going on, I love that she understands the power in the wood and the valley in this intrinsic way that nobody else does, and I looove her force of personality. I'm also a big fan of the fact that half her spells are from baba yaga. I'd love something magical, maybe her discovering/learning/creating a new spell, or finding that "something" in the woods that's casually hunting her down (an opportunity for a super scary fic here....but please give me a happy ending!), or just solving some magical problems with her down-to-earth spells.

Ship-wise: I love her with Sarkan, of course, but I also felt like she had chemistry with Kasia. I'd also be up for her hooking up with an original character - maybe a long-lost wood person?

art prompts: something snuggly with Sarkan or Kasia, or maybe something atmospheric with Agnieszka in the woods with something magical? Or it'd be great to see how you interpret a scene from the book; maybe the first time Agnieszka and Sarkan use their magic together to create the rose, or when she finds Kasia in the heart tree?

CHARACTER DEATH. oh my goodness, please do not kill anybody, or write me a hopelessly tragic ending. bittersweet endings where I'm crying but happy are one thing, hurt/comfort and fics where everything is tragic and terrible and super sad in the middle but then it turns out that everyone is ok and there's a great big happy ending are great, but straight-up tragedy the whole way through is too much for me. I'm also not hugely interested in PWP, but I have no problems with some smut.

Ahhh, dorky cops! Who doesn't love dorky cops??

My favourite episodes are the halloween ones where Jake is trying to steal something of the captain's, the one where Gina is robbed...I basically love all the one where they have to work together as a team.

Feel free to write about one, two or all three of the ladies, in any combination: Gina plans to sleep with Boyle and wakes up with Amy and Rosa instead? Amy decides to detective her way into Rosa's backstory and discovers her awful girlfriend and tries to fix everything and FAKE DATES Rosa? Gina and Rosa conspire to make Amy have fun? Superhero AU where Gina is their receptionist/supervillain? I just love dorky cop ladies, is that so wrong?

Dinotopia (None!)
OK, so I very specifically listed zero characters, which I know also means "any", so if you're desperate to write about Sylvia and Will, or whoever - go for it! But what I would really, really love is worldbuilding fic.

I love the way the kids books are all about the culture of Dinotopia, and it would be so amazing if you could write something in that same vein. Original characters (modern characters washing up? or the first person to wash up? literally any characters from the other fandoms I've requested washing up?), made-up dinosaur species, careers (the first rock band! the first real chef! the first fashion designer!), locations, guidebooks, handbooks, ahhhhhhh. I am just desperate to live in Dinotopia, so make it real for me, writer!

Nimona (Nimona, Ballister, Goldenloin)
I need, need, need, need, need everybody to have a happy ending.

I totally ship Ballister/Goldenloin, with Nimona as their snarky hilarious adopted daughter. The Fic of my Heart is Nimona Parent-Trapping Ballister and Goldenloin into a happy ending, but honestly, go absolutely hog wild with this; modern AU, post-canon, dinotopia AU, superhero AU (they're already almost there lmao), whatever you want to write, but pleeeeeaaase give me a happy ending.

If you're not into shipping, I'd love something beautiful and platonic between Ballister and Nimona. Goldenloin is like...eh, on his own. But if you love him, then I dare you to make me love him too!

Carmilla (web series) (Laura, Danny, Carmilla)
literally any combination of the above ladies would be my ultimate jam. Laura/Danny is great, Laura/Carmilla is great, Laura/one of them with the other one skulking around being super jealous and tragic is amazing, all three of them somehow making it work....be still my heart!

I love Carmilla's ultimate terrible dorkiness (I have a weakness for dorky ladies and dorky "villains", what can I say...), the fact that she was totally flirting with Laura absolutely slayed me, oh my gosh. Laura is a total idiot champ, and Danny is 100% adorable and amazing, and I love all three of them so much.

Feel free to play up the vague weirdness of the school, slightly involve LaFontaine and Perry (aka the only minor characters I care about), have erotic blood sucking, erotic AND ALSO DORKY blood sucking, werewolf!Danny....it's all good!
